The Career Services Center (CSC) is seeking a Career Counseling and Student Programs Graduate Assistant. This position reports to the Associate Director of Student Outreach, WVU Career Services Center.
Duties/Responsibilities:
-Assist Associate Director of Student Outreach with all components of academic courses, seminars, and guest lectures offered by the CSC
-Help develop strategies to increase student enrollment in courses
-Present career related material through the MountaineerTRAK Seminar Series, guest lectures in UNIV 101 and capstone courses, and student/community organizations
-Teach or assist in teaching mid-semester rescue courses offered by the CSC
-Advise and counsel students and alumni regarding career planning, resume/cover letter writing, and interviewing techniques
-Conduct individual mock interviews
-Assist Employer Relations Specialist with career fair duties and marketing to students
-Research and report market trends in various industries and to CSC administrators and career counselors
Skills/Qualifications:
-Enrolled at WVU in a graduate program
-Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills
-Highly developed public speaking skills
-Teaching acumen
-Possess an interest in career counseling, program development, and best practices research
-Applicant must behave professionally, be self-motivated and responsible, and be dependable and punctual
-Computer skills
